Data Restoration Policy

  1. Purpose
    The purpose of this policy is to ensure that discretion is used when data restoration requests are submitted, due to the potential resources required to complete such requests.
  2. Scope
    This policy applies to all requests for data restoration, including but not limited to M: drives, N: drives, and email storage.
  3. Policy
    • 3.1.  Ownership and Responsibilities
      • 3.1.1.  Individuals requiring data restorations must submit a support ticket at the as completely as possible, and submit this form to their chairperson or director for approval and signature.
      • 3.1.2.  Department chairpersons or directors must review the request and understand its goal. If the request is deemed appropriate to consume college resources, the form should be signed and sent to the Network Resource Center.
      • 3.1.3.  After the Network Resource Center receives the request, it will make every reasonable attempt to recover the data as requested and approved by the department chairperson or director.
  4. Enforcement
    • 4.1.  The Network Resource Center will not perform any unauthorized file restorations.

    Data Restoration The retrieval of files, folders, or email from archive media.
    Email Storage All items stored on the Business College email server
    M: Drive Personal file storage individually assigned to all Business Login ID holders
    N: Drive Shared file storage assigned to each department for collaborative work
